For Father's Day, my family ordered a topo map of Israel for my Garmin, and it came in today. It's a microSD with topo maps, trails, points of interest, parks, lakes, streams, roads, places to eat, almost everything you can think of. I'm plugging it in today and will start to browse sites we plan to visit. My hope is to mark the GPS coords of photos I take and notable locations. Very cool!
A random collection of minutiae I find interesting. Topics are generally random, but sometimes I get serious about my views. :)

Israel 2011 is confirmed
Well, it's confirmed. My daughter Andrea and I are going to Israel for a 10 day tour in October this year. We've been on pins and needles for several weeks now, just waiting for confirmation that the trip was actually getting enough participants to make it viable.
This is a very cool thing.
I hope to use this blog to record our preparations and journal our experiences while we're actually there. Just look for the tags "Israel 2011" on each post.
